Why is it that most people's religions discriminate against women? This was the thought that occurred to me when I read Jimmy Carter's recent article in The Guardian talking about the role of religions in encouraging discrimination against women.

Talkback feminism

I hope to prod, poke and probe current thinking about what it is like to be an Australian woman.  Feminist issues affect everyone in Australia, but often are presented using complex and confused language that relies on feminist jargon.  I want to unravel some of this to make feminist issues of interest to everyone.
